Zalaegerszeg’s stone theatre, which was founded in 1982, stands behind the Tower Clock, but definitely not in its shadow. The theatre was opened with Imre Madách’s play “The Tragedy of Man”, whose protagonist was played by the Zalaegerszeg-born Miklós Gábor. He starred in cultic movies like “Somewhere in Europe” and “State Store”. There is a wide repertoire, beside their own premieres, the theatre hosts other shows, as well, and exhibitions await those interested in the hall.
