The Zalaegerszeg Gym Club was founded in 1920, and their football stadium was built in 1972 when the team managed to get into the first class of the national championship. The number of viewers peaked that year, as well, when 22 thousand spectators were cheering for the team of ZTE. The ZTE Arena was completely renewed in March 2017, covering all four viewing areas, and making it able to host 11.200 fans.
