Lake Gébárt, green idyll, busy hands, folk art. The Craftsmen’s House was built as a spot for creation, constructed by the creators’ own hands. However, this extraordinary building and its workshops are not only home to the craftsmen and their works of art, but also to countless events, for example the Open Workshop Gallery series or the international art colony. The house’s permanent exhibitions are the felt tent displaying the yurt of the Hungarian leader from the era of conquest, the exhibition on the objects of the shepherd society whose collection was assembled by László Szelestey, and the exhibition of Imre Makovecz, one of the most prominent proponents of organic architecture and a native of the county.
A Gébárti Kézművesek Háza szomszédságában avatták fel a Kárpát-medencei Tradicionális Fa Sírjelek Emlékparkot.
A new attraction in the park of Gébárt, the chapel was sanctified in the summer of 2019, and was designed by the renowned architect, Imre Makovecz, shortly before his death. The building is characteristic of the organic architecture. The chapel beckons with its hexagonal, upward narrowing tower. It is worth admiring its extraordinary interior which is decorated by a rhythmically recurring pieta-contour.
Innumerable experiences await you in the fresh natural environment, as here you can even catch your dinner or take a dip in the refreshing water. What is more, you do not have to leave your pets at home, either, because swimming is allowed for dogs at the dog beach. Besides indulging yourself in eventful recreation, make sure to pop into the Gébárt Craftsmen’s House, visit the biggest headstone park of the Carpathian Basin, feel invigorated at the Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel, or see the outdoor sculpture park under the green foliage.
A real water paradise, which is sure to spice up and stir up your summer! Slide, splash, jump and enjoy the waves in the Aquapark with Central Europe’s greatest mass of water, 6000 m2 of water surface and countless attractions on land!
